We all produce carbon directly or indirectly in our daily activities. Some of this carbon rises into the atmosphere and some of it settles in our oceans.

FACTS:
• 14kg of CO2 created, on average by manufacturing one single pair of shoes.

• Footwear production accounts for 1.4% of the global greenhouse gas emissions, which is significant given that air travel is responsible for 2.5% of all emissions.

• Carbon emissions are present in every step of a shoe lifecycle - material sourcing, production, shipping, warehousing, and general operations.

While we are able to cut down emissions by building our shoes from
recycled materials and sustainable processes, we wanted to take a step forward.
That is why we are committed to being carbon neutral to help offset our environmental impact.

Through carbon offsetting, we are taking more carbon out of the environment that we're putting in - meaning, net zero carbon footprint for every shoe we make. During photosynthesis, trees capture CO2 from the atmosphere, cleaning our air and producing oxygen.

So, we partnered with treethis and Eden Reforestation to help us in our mission and plant trees in different regions of the planet. Not only we are reducing our ecological footprint, but also helping and empowering local communities across the world that's why we are contributing to 13 of the SDGs (United Nations).

Why Tree Planting?

Deforestation in one of the biggest environmental issues of our time and
today's consumption is a major cause of environmental degradation
consumption and it continues increasing at a fast pace.

Our team wanted to tackle the impact of consumer habits in our planet and we thought the most efficient way was thought tree planting. Thus, we are
able to create awareness while reducing our ecological footprint and helping local communities across the world. Each tree planted removes around
308kg of CO2 from the atmosphere over its growth life (25 year), with an average of 12kg/year per tree.
